Hey everybody....I am getting married at a vineyard next October but i'm trying to think of some unusual things to do with the ceremony and the reception that can kinda go with the theme and/or augment the beautiful vineyard that we are going to be at. Any ideas?

I would ask the vineyard if they have photos from past events, that would give your a chance to see what other brides have done there and whether or not you like it. What are your colors going to be?
We did a dinner event with Fess Parker (used to play Davey Crockett, now owns a winery named after him), and we had a half oak barrel filled with de-stemmed grapes so people could go in and see what it felt like--this could be a fun thing to do, with a foot scrub station next to it (you'd be surprised at how many people did this in formal wear!).
With a vineyard, I automatically think of floral arrangements and ribbons in brown, burgundy, and dark green. I wish I could think of more for you!

use grapes coated in sugar and placed in vases or crystal bowls as your centerpiece. Grape leaves place in a twine or rope can be used for decoration. make a family crest or your monogram and place it on material and drape it from the doors or ceiling.

glass charms are inexpensive favors and can be found at most dollar stores or on ebay.

Goodness...such fast reply in only a day's time. In response to an earlier question, this is a brand new vineyard that my aunt and uncle started a couple of years ago. They are currently building the tasting house/reception area. So we are going to be the very first wedding there. We have copmpletely free reign to do whatever we want which is kinda fun but at the same time I am setting all the standards for everything that they do in the future. Many of the pictures you guys posted are beautiful..thanks so much.

Sandi,
You just gave me the theme for our reception this spring! Those cakes! How beautiful!
I hope you feel better! I don't know if you've ever tried TheraFlu, it's the only thing that ever knocks me out to get sleepwhen I'm sick. I hope you heal fast!

Carolyn, I'm glad I could help. I don't take meds unless I have to. It goes back to when I was in the army. I am feeling better finally. Thank you.

My husband and I went to a vineyard themed wedding this past summer. They did tiny wine bottles with personalized labels for favors - the wine was tasty. Then for the tables, they used old wine bottles and put candles in them. Also, each table had a white and a red wine from our local vineyards on each table and they were all different. They hung huge strands of grapes and vines all over the place, and through fake grapes on all of the tables around the wine bottle centerpiece. It was actually really beautiful and tastefully put together.
