Pumkin Carving/ hayrides

Ok we are doing a Halloween Theme reception. I was thinking of getting about 100 pumpkins and let the kids and whatever adults wanted to carve them and set them up, take home if they wanted. I know thi could be a huge mess but I think it would be fun. Any thoughts on yes or no??

We are also thinking of finding someone to do hayrides. What do you think. I want this to be fun not a "true" reception I guess you can say. SOmething EVERYONE will remember.

I think that sounds like a blast!! Find a place where you can spread paper on the tables or do an outside reception and have people have fun...If you don't want to wrry about the mess, you can always get those carvable and reuasable pumpkins from the craft store. They are like styrafoam, but really think and you can carve anything into them like a real pumpkin without the mess....
Hayrides would be fun and really exciting for everyone as well...
