Hi Ladies,

Hopefully you guys can assist me with your creativity. I have no idea what to do for wedding colors. I know that it's supposed to be what you want, but I can not even determine what that would be. The only thing I ever dreamed about my wedding was walking down the aisle in my childhood church and having the bell rang in the steeple. Neither of those will be happening. Anyways, I am getting married in spring and wanted to know what my work besides the usual pastels. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

Well, I would suggest looking through bridal magazines, maybe something will jump out at you! Also, you could look through the journals here, and maybe get an idea from them...I am sure no one would mind if you decided to use their idea!

Well it may depend also on what kind of flowers you want. and if you are wanting real or silk. If you are using real flowers there are certain types and colors that are available, so that may narrow your choices some. I agree with Laura on looking through mags....seeing different colors put together maybe you will like 1 more than the others. I know there was a link posted on this site in 1 of the threads that had a color chart of sorts. To show you what colors go well with others.....so you might want to research that. Or I'm sure you could google something like wedding color schemes and something will pop up. Do you have a favorite color or does FH? Or do you have a favorite flower?

What is your favorite color. Maybe you can use that color and a lighter hue of that color. OR You could use a complementary color to your favorite color. Hope I helped a little.

Thank you guys for all your ideas. I guess my biggest problem is not being able to decide. By not going in with a set idea of what I want, my Mom, FMIL, sisters, and FBIL are all putting in their two-cents. It's nice and appreciated, but everything sounds good. Hopefully by looking online or in magazines for inspiration, I can find something that really draws me and helps me make a decision. Does anyone else have problems with indecision?

My wedding is going to be in the spring of '08. So far my colour ideas are seafoam green, deep red, pale blue, white and silver. My colour ideas ***e from colour meanings coupled with the ocean theme that I'm having.

I think we all go through our share of indecision. I have changed my mind on colors 3 times.....you have plenty of time so better to do it now then when you should actually be buying things and getting things marked off the list.

I couldnt decide between crimson or gold bridesmaid dresses. I had a dream one night, and that was the color I chose. (Crimson) I was originally going to go with Crimson and Cream for the colors, and then we started thinking and decided a fall theme would be better!

those are really pretty colors....but I live in Oklahoma and if I did that everyone would be singing Boomer Sooner.....LOL!!!!! Actually with the colors I have decided to go with(dusty rose, wine and cream), I have to be very careful to make sure it doesnt scream OU wedding!!!! Im sure that most of the people wouldnt mind....but I dont do football, especially at my wedding!!!!

Maybe you have a favorite color, but it just doesn't seem to fit into the wedding of your dreams? My husband and I share the same favorite color-bold blue, but not exactly what I had in mind. What I did was pick my favorite flower--the gerbera daisy--and used those colors as my main focus. I had yellow, red, orange, pink, and white flowers everywhere. I used glass vases (looked like small colored fish bowls) in red, blue, green, yellow, and orange with rocks and candles inside as centerpieces. My bouquet was all red flowers, but my ladies had a mixture of colors in thier bouquets.

Thank you sillybride. There are some good combos on there and a couple that I might be able to talk myself into. :)

I was thinking about using gerbera daisies. I saw a beautiful bouquet of them at a bridal show and thought they were the perfect. Plus, gerberas are in season in spring and fall, so I wouldn't have to worry as much about costs. I appreciate your sharing your ideas.
