Hawaiian Style

Leaving home (California) was a good choice for a wedding, b/c we could keep our guest count down to those who really mattered, and therefore save money. Also, it saved us the headaches and stress of planning it ourselves, b/c we hired a wedding planner (we didn't want to trust vendors we had no experience with or reccommendations for!). The planner was young and friendly, and very knowledegeable about the island. (She gave us some great advice for dining, sightseeing, and money saving tips while we were in Hawaii- very useful!) She took care of all the details, gave us great ideas, and delivered a fun, budget wedding. I know she also does weddings for as little as $150, for the marriage certificate, minister, & lei's. Her website is: www.weddingrebel.com
There's a huge variety of locations in Hawaii from mountains to beaches, boats, & scenic gardens that make amazing backdrops to a budget wedding. Also, you can honeymoon while you're there, so it saves you the hassle of planning both a honeymoon and a wedding!
