I know that we're technically supposed to post gowns for sale in the "for sale" forum but it doesn't look like it gets much traffic and everyone else posts here.

(There is a reason that you don't order your wedding gown THREE YEARS before your wedding!)

My best friends 19 year old sister got "engaged" to a boy 4 months after she met him and immediately demanded that my friend order her a wedding gown even though her "wedding" wasn't for three years. Needless to say, the wedding was cancelled 2 weeks after my friend put the non refundable deposit on the gown!

Its an Emme Bridal (The ORIGINAL Emme bridal...not the one thats owned by DaVinci Bridals) Sz 4, never even tried on (except by my dress form! lol!) Ivory with charcoal and silver embroidery, blue sequins, beads, and swarovski crystals and a detachable train. We're asking $250.... she paid over $600.

I posted it on my local craigslist http://stlouis.craigslist.org/clo/207017982.html where there are about a million pictures!

Obviously, I can't offer you the free alterations that iI'm offering in the ad unless you live in St. Louis or close area.... but maybe I can make your veil or something like that. I'm offering it because my closest friend is now having money problems and her immature little sister (who has since had a baby and gone up 5 dress sizes) refuses to pay her back for the gown.... but has been telling her NOT to sell it! :( I want to sweeten the deal because I know that there are alot of gowns out there that are for sale.

Gosh, I realize that this sounds just aweful! lol. I assure you that there are no bad vibes surrounding this gown.... just someone who bought it and shouldn't have.

PLEASE help her get this gown out of her closet!

If you have any questions, just let me know :)

Wow--how pretty! If there was ever a chance that I'd get my big ol' Irish hips into a size 4, I'd ditch the 2 dresses I've already bought and go for it. But to make me a 4 in time for my wedding, I'd have to stop eating. Forever! Good luck selling it.

have you try placing it on ebay?

I've sold a few vintage gowns on ebay and it has been in my opinion that its more hassle than its worth. I've had, on more than one occasion, had someone buy it, get it, try it on and decide they didn't like it and file an Item Significantly Not as Described dispute... such disputes can completely ruin a sellers reputation so I try to avoid selling wedding gowns on Ebay.

Have you posted an add in your local newspaper or selling it with an auctioneer?

If you haven't already done so, here is another wedsite you can try.

Wow that is a beautiful dress and I love the way the train comes off with a beautiful design underneath. If I could fit into a size 4 I would seriously consider it.

Good luck!

Hey,

Omg that dress is simply stunning! Shame, b/c FH would kill me if I changed my mind on the dress I already have lol. I hope you find a good buyer for it though. Love the blue, it could be part of that umm something old, borrowed, blue thing?

Posting an ad in our local paper is out of the question... far too expensive. I have it on a couple of local free classified..including craigslist. I've had pretty good luck with CL for other things so we'll see.

Actually, I could wear it, I'm a size 4 but, as pretty as it is, it is NOTHING like me! lol! I was going to wear a vintage gown but I think I've decided to make my gown.

You may have already done this, but you could try putting it on E-bay. It is a very pretty gown, and I would definitely consider it if I could wear a size 4, but that will never happen for me..

Not putting it on Ebay. To many problems selling them there before. (I work with vintage gowns and I also do seamstressing) Not pretty experience!
