Okay...my best friend since hmm...the age of 12 and her husband are in our wedding. They met in the navy and were married at the justice of the peace with just myself and her husband's best friend there. Their daughter is our flower girl...etc. I basically grew up with her family - they're my second family. I work on their farm, we do holidays together, I call her parents mom and dad - they introduce me as one of their kids, etc. Anyway, since they'll all be at the wedding, we thought we would surprise them with a renewal of their vows for them and their family. They kindof regret never having that ceremony for them and their family as well as wedding pictures and the cutting of the cake and the bridal dance. But we really want to surprise them. Is this okay to do? We certainly don't mind. We want to do this. We're not worried about it stealing the limelight from us - we would be just overjoyed to share this day with them - we even want to get them their own cake to cut :) I'm more worried about the other guests that don't know them - basically, it'll be an extra 3-5 minutes in the ceremony and I think they can all just sit through it :) Any thoughts?
