My Fiance and I are having a little dilema. We recently got engaged and have already chosen our wedding party (6 on each side). But his best friend who is suppose to be the Best Man is stationed in Korea. We dont know if he will be home for the wedding. We talked about not replacing him, kind of to have him there in spirit but everyone is telling us to find someone else. Should we choose someone else or ask someone to stand in his place or be short one man :confused:

I have a friend that was in a similar situation. What we decided to do was plan on him being there, but make a contingency plan - ask the next groomsman in line to step up in the event that the best man cannot make it. Ask an usher (if you have one) to fill in as a groomsman in this case to keep your numbers even (if you're worried about that) or have one of your groomsmen walk two ladies down the isle.
