Have any of you had any experience in changing your mind about a dress after putting it on layaway at David's Bridal? I found a dress that I loved, an Oleg Cassini (not on their web site anymore, clearance dress) with a long train and a beautiful embroidered bodice, but the more I think about it, I think I took the dress that my mom and MOH loved more than the one I liked and knew would be practical for a beach ceremony. There were 3 other dresses that I tried that I think now I liked better, but with our budget, I can't buy 2! The people there were very nice and all 3 associates that ***e over to help were gracious and honest (favoring the $550 clearance gown over the $1200 one), but their store policy is ambiguous.
Any advice? I can't think straight anymore...anyone have any advice about dealing with a train on the beach?

you can change your mind as long as your date has not passed. just ask them. they may be more than willing to help you. and allow you to put the other one on layaway in place of the current one

The experience I had with David's was as long as the dress has not left the store, you can get your money back or exchange for something else. Good luck.

Hey,
My Mom has suggested that her and my FMIL as well as my FSMIL carry my train on the beach til I get to my FH. This way I don't have to worry about ruining my train. Hope it helps.

I had a dress on layaway at David's Bridal but changed my mind. If you cancel before the day the last payment is due, you'll lose just your deposit. I'm not sure what happens when the day for the last payment is due passes.

David's Bridal is kind of strict on their exchanges. I think you can only do an exchange if it's the same exact dress like if you were getting a different size in the same dress, which I've done before (a bridesmaid dress). I might be wrong though on how strict they are so you should just check with one of their associates to make sure.

I'm thinking of swapping it for a more expensive dress, so I hope they're willing to work with me! If not, I guess it's a sign to be happy with what I've got!
