Where is everybody going on their honeymoons? We are thinking of going to Florida, but we aren't sure yet. I would love to hear other people's ideas or stories. I want to go somewhere romantic but with a lot of fun stuff to do!

We are going to Hawaii! I am so excited, because neither of us have ever been there before. I know we're going to have the best time ever. We are staying at the Kaanapali Alii on Maui. Anyone ever been there?

I would highly recommend Hawaii. We would plan a Hawaiian honeymoon except that my fiance and I have both been there and would like to go somewhere new. We have chosen Cancun, which I have also heard great things. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is supposedly the new hot spot. I would have to say to be careful if you are planning a Caribbean honeymoon--it is not America and the (lack of) cleanliness seems to reflect that. I wasn't all that impressed with my trip to the Bahamas. That may not matter to you. We are staying in a 5-star hotel in Cancun, so hopefully we will not confront such issues! :)

Florida is also fun!! If you're looking for the wild side of Florida--Daytona Beach should provide that. I've heard the same about Panama City (never been there). Orlando is a little calmer and definitely a big tourist hit. We got engaged in Ft. Lauderdale--of course I have great memories of that trip!! And I have to say one last thing--if you'd prefer to stay in the continental U.S., San Diego is one of my favorites!

I hope that helps! All that really matters is that you are with your new HUSBAND (I love thinking of him in that way!). Just make a point to have fun no matter where you go!

We have decided to go on a cruise. You can make it a cheap honeymoon or an expensive one. Basicly depending on where you want your room and how many excursions you want to go on. It's also a good way to see new, exciting and exotic places. ( P.S. to all the people who have decided to go to Hawaii, my personal trainer, who was stationed in Hawaii, said that the natives hate white people)

My family has stayed there a few times on trips...it's amazing! Every room is a privately owned condo, complete with a laundry room, living room, full kitchen, and a couple of bedrooms. It's expensive, but it's definitely worth it when you need to sleep a lot of people and can afford it. They have a nice pool area and are sooo close to Whaler's Village.

My fiancee and I are planning a trip to Europe. I've been there during college, but I want to return and share it with my future husband.

I've lived in Florida my whole life. Although it is a lot of fun, you could do a lot of other more romantic things on your honeymoon. For the amount of money you will spend here, have you considered the Carribean? I think that's where we're going to go. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. My girlfriend went there and swears she can't imagine a better place to go for a honeymoon. Like I said although Florida is nice it's not a greatly romantic place. Were you considering South Florida or the Orlando area? I've lived in both.

We are going to Las Vegas. My fiance has never been and there's so much to do there now you don't need to gamble to be entertained.

We have decided to visit Maui and Kuaui. My father booked us a condo for a week as a wedding present, so all we had to do was secure airline and rental car. I am so excited. The pictures of Hawaii look so beautiful. Can anyone tell me what we can do over there??

I went to College in Hawaii and have also been to every island. Maui is incredible and a wonderful place to go for a honeymoon. Visit Lahaina and Kihei. Take the road to Hana.
Cabo San Lucas is awesome. I have been there a couple of times. It keeps getting more and more expensive though. Five years ago it was half the price of what it is today. My fiance and are a planning a November wedding and honeymoon there because my family is from San Diego and will all be there.

i've lived in Hawaii all my life, and love this island. regarding the comment about your personal trainer from Hawaii...the "natives" (if anyone still uses that word anymore) don't hate white people. i'm Hawaiian/Chinese, and am married to a white guy. it's actually quite common here. i mean, we have such a diverse mixture of cultures/nationalities. it's what makes Hawaii so unique. what we don't like are ignorant people...ones who stereotype us. i work in the tourism industry, and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. one of the most common compliments that i receive is that the locals are very friendly and generous. something must be wrong w/ your trainer.

we are going to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Its off the coast of Cancun, so you can go party, or stay on the beautiful island!

I have lived in Florida my whole life... even thought it is a nice place and to visit I don't think its really honeymoon material. but that's probably because i have lived here my whole life

We just got back from 10 days at Poipu Beach, Kauai (where my Fiance proposed). It is soooo beautiful there and romantic. The pace is good, not to crowded, great snorkeling and nice places to hike. Now I need to find a place to top that for our honeymoon. I don't think you will be disappointed if you go to Kauai (the north shore of Kauai is also very beautiful, Princeville). Good luck!

We also chose a cruise for our honeymoon and instead of flying to the port of departure we are taking the time to drive, saving us $800.

Hawaii? What about someplace that is a bit different than mainstream. Even if the place you stay is unique in itself. Please don't do what is mainstrem for a HONEYMOON! Hawaii seems so...unoriginal anymore, and quite expensive to be a tourist (probably because the do dislike mainlanders)

My husband to be and I are going to British Columbia, Cananda and doing an Alaskan cruise. We are not beach going people and the Alaskan cruise will give us lots to see and do but be relaxing at the same time. Then we are doing Vancouver, Whistler, Seattle and Victoria for the other 8 days. Hey, we got our plane tickets for free (thanks to Delta Sky miles) and part of our honeymoon is a wedding gift. So we couldn't go wrong.

Congrats to everyone!

Has anyone ever been to the Poconos in Pennsylvania? That's where my fiance and I plan on going.

We're going to Tahiti for 2 weeks....... Wanted someone beautiful yet not commercial. We are spending 1 night in Tahiti and 6 nights each in Moorea and Tahaa, which are smaller and more private. It's supposed to be very romantic and secluded.

I wouldnt do it if i were you. i lived in nyc my whole life, and the poconos was my escape. it is a lovely place, if you are an outdoorsey type of gal. if you do go however, visit tanersville and terrytown. there isnt too much to do. you could rent a boat on lake wallenpaupack.....i suppose to me, it is sortof a boring place. but to annother, it ,might be magical.

Got married last month in Hawaii(Island of Oahu) and spent my honeymoon on another Island (Kauai). I was born and raised in Hawaii and I miss and love that place. And to that person comment about the natives hating white people...they dont...i think Hawaii is the most friendliest place in the world

While the Poconos is becoming more of a year round area for NYC and NJ commuters, there are still plenty of things for honeymooners to do. Lots of things to see and do all year round. A lot of the restaurants are so-so, but there are a few that stand out with excellent food.

Visit the site in my signature if you want to research more about the Poconos, and feel free to post in those forums as well if you are looking for more ideas.

My FH and I are going to be spending 2 weeks in Fairhope, Alabama. It's a small town across the bay from Mobile. My mother grew up there and my family owns a house right on the Mobile Bay. We will get the Bay House to ourselves. And then to do something different, our friends will be joining us for the second week of our Honeymoon. 1 week alone and one with the people who mean the most to us. And because I spent summer's down there growing up and my freshman year of college down there I know my way around so we will take a trip to Gulf SHores, AL and Destin, FL absoulutly beautiful places.
