This is my wedding dress:

I don't like it too pouffy, should I go get a simple petticoat - no hoop or will it look ok without it?

Hi, I think it's a pretty gown. I think it looks o.k. without a petticoat. But, you are the one who's going to wear it. Have you tried one on with your gown, to get a better feel for how it would look.

Hi.....the dress is beautiful. It is hard to tell by the picture whether they have one on in that picture or not...they usually don't tell you.

When you tried it on....How did it look? Did it look poufy enough on you?
I wouldn't think that you would want a hoop skirt, perhaps a crinoline, depending on how frilly it actually IS underneath to start with. Like how many layers of material it has to hold it out, how heavy it makes it....does it weigh it's self down....?

If you think that it actually is too heavy and will "hang" with out a crinoline under it...you may want a crinoline.

If you think it has some "pouf" of it's own, it may hold it'sself outward on it's own.

You may be able to ask at the bridal place when you try it on again for a fitting...BUT, they may just try to sell you one whether you need it or not, so it MAY not work out.

Hope this helps you in some way.....

Thanks for the suggestion.
I ordered my dress about 2 months ago. When I purchased the dress, the sale lady asked me if I’ll be wearing crinoline because she was considering if I need to order the dress in petite length. I told her I won't be wearing it. So I've never tried the dress with crinoline. But now, I'm thinking if I should go get one, because the dress is kindda heavy, it does weight it's self down. Maybe I should wait until the dress arrive and try it with crinoline. My dress won't come in until 4 weeks b4 the wedding. Hopefuly it will come on time so I can purchse petticoat if needed.

If you do need a crinoline, you may be able to pick one up from a place like David's Bridal if you need to.....I don't know if they carry them in stock....although I hear there have been other problems with the chain stores, I haven't heard of problems with people just picking up the slips from there. Other bridal places may have slips too, in stock, or available quickly.

Good luck.

You could even rent one. Try where the guys are getting their tuxes. If they don't have crimolines they should know where does.

First off let me tell you I love the dress. I don't think you NEED a petticoat but it is a good idea to have one. Some of them aren't very big at all, I dont think it will make your dress look poofy, it will just fill it in a little.
