Anyone purchase their gown online?

Hello All,
My wedding is a month away. It's very small and organizing it has been a weird process. Anyhow, I kept putting off getting a gown because I was hoping that my sister would get a chance to accompany me as I tried on dresses. I waited, but we could not work our schedules out. So, now I found a dress that I love, but the only people who have it are out in California. It is a Maggie Sottero Marla gown. The problem is I can't try it on.

Has anyone purchased a dress online before? I have someone who can make alterations. I am just concerned with it being unflattering after I receive it.

Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable buying something so important online, one because you have not yet tried it on and two you never know if you are getting an original Maggie unless you go through an authorized retailer. Where do you live?

i bought mine online!!!!!!! after trooping around to dress store after dress store with the picture of the one i wanted, i couldnt find anything close "in real life". it was a risk i was willing to take because the dress was only $199 online. it ***e in 2 weeks, and didnt even need altered!!! I WAS SOOOO HAPPY WITH MY DECISION!!!

I purchased my Reem Acra gown online (from New York) because the salon near me did not have the dress I wanted. It arrived in a few months (was ordered to my size) and is absolutely beautiful. I was hesitant at first,a but I am glad I decided to go with the purchase, because now I can get started on the rest of the planning.
