Okay so I am a big girl. I admit it..."Hello my name is Katey and I am addicted to food". Anyway...I had a hard time finding a dress that fit me. Well, I found one, and I thought I would share with those other brides that may be having a hard time also. Go to the website www.moonlightbridal.com
My dress is on there....I will go see what the model number is.....it was the second dress that I had put on....I was so excited!!!!

I like that dress. I too am a plus size. At the bridal shop, they had me try on a few dresses that gather like that around the waist area. It really helped. I ended upu with Alfred Angelo 1783

I hear you sista!
:Sigh:
I went with my grandma a few weeks ago and none of the dresses that they had that would fit me & were ugly...to me...and then after we left I bursted into tears b/c I felt like a big fat girl and that the only way I'd fit in a dress was if I were to develop an eating disorder.

So tomorrow I am going to try more on in a different town and cross your fingers I hope I find one in my budget! I'm going with my Future Cousin & Future Aunt...they are so nice and well kinda big gals so I relate to them.

This has been the only thing I've been most nervous about b/c I am so heavy. Is that no one will have a dress to fit me. I've gained so much weight in the past few years...I tried doing curves and nothing worked and now I'm just trying to watch what I eat...hmmm the battle of the bulge...

Well congrats and like I said wish me luck...I'm taking all I can get at this point!!!:p

Don't stress about it, you have enough to worry about with your wedding you don't need to be worrying about weight. Your fiance loves you for who you are. He knows what you look like and it obviously doesn't matter to him. Try to look for a dress with an empire waisline, it helps. That's what I got. Also, the dress listed in this post, with the gathering in the waist, those help too. At first, I was getting a dress in a smaller size so that I would have to lose weight, but I ended up going back and switching dresses. You don't need the stresss.

Thanks, and I realize this but it's so hard not too! I want to look beautiful for him and he's never seen me once in a dress. I am just putting too much pressure on myself and I've always been my biggest critic.

However, Thank you for the moral support...it's appreciated.

I too am on the larger side-however losing weight was actually a priority for me and my fiance jumped on the bandwagon. I started out at a 18/20 when I went dress shopping so I did order my dress in a size 18 just in case I couldn't lose the weight(I was going to have to have it altered in some areas anyway). Now I have managed to get down to a 14/16 and I guess when my dress arrives we'll have to alter it a few more places. I've lost 36 pounds since Feb. 1st by following the points plan on Weight Watchers, I don't go to the meetings and work out seldomly so I'm surprised that I dropped that much weight but I'm feeling so much better about my body now. I say that if you are comfortable in your skin though don't do anything to change it, but if you are looking for something easy to follow then this definately was the first plan I have been able to stick to(5 months and still going) Now I'm rambling but here is my dress http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=grace+kelly&searchId=466491096&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=8&style=J135

I too felt that way in the beginning, until I read an article that a plus size bride wrote about no matter what your size is you should feel like cinderalla on your wedding day and not to be ashamed to show off the best of your assests. My first intentions were to buy a dress that would cover it all up, but since I'm getting married on April 28 in Texas long sleeves wouldn't work for me....(lol). I never imagined that I would feel comfortable in a Halter top wedding dress, but like the article said it's your day and whatever makes you feel like a princess. So I went with something simple but beautiful here is the link to my dress www.davidsbridal.com under Davids Bridal Woman mine is a Davids bridal collection style 9T8050.

I went shopping yesterday as I said I was going to and I actually tried that dress on. I liked it was very simple. I did end up falling for two dress one being priced kinda on the high end and the other was fine. However, it seems you always like the more expensive dress*. I also fell in love with a bridesmaid dress.
I loved styles L8555, 9E8787*, and I liked 9N8579. Plus bridesmaid dress style F11867...

Hey girls! I just wanted to tell you that on my bridesmaids side I have two larger girls (one being my sister and the other one being my maid of honor. Since I have been a bridesmaid before and I know what it’s like hating a dress and how it looks on you…I took my maid of honor to help pick out a dress. We went to David’s Bridal and I picked out a few dresses that I liked and she went in and tried them on. The one that she liked and felt good in, that’s the one we choose. We picked style number: F11606 in Chambord. I just fell in love with this dress. It drapes off to the side like my dress and it covered the areas that needed to be covered.

Now, about what I have done to help me with my fat rolls and back ****s. I bought a girdle or corset from JCPenny’s. This is the one that I liked the most that had the most support. It was around $50.00, and it shipped real quick. I saw one at Catherine’s and it just didn’t support the girls like I wanted it to. I do wear it around the house to get comfortable in it, and make sure that I won’t have any problems on the big day. I also am wearing a thigh sucker inner thing. I had to buy this at Catherine’s. Now girls don’t worry if you have to buy a bigger size in this. I had to get a 10X and I about crapped. I know I am not that big, but it felt comfortable and didn’t cut off my circulation and breathing. I also am using a spray deodorant “down there” to help no sweat through my dress.

My fiance’, Kristian, is very supportive of me. He believes that I will be a Cinderella on our wedding day. He and I are so both excited to finally be getting married. I love him so much. I never thought that I would find a guy who loved me for who I am and what I look like. No matter what size I am. And he does. He thinks that I am beautiful even with my clothes off. When I was younger I used sex as trying to get love. I never thought that I would get married. I had dreamed about it, but never thought it could happen. Now that it is happening, it’s kinda like my dream has come true. My advice for girls that are of the “bigger” size…never lose sight of your dreams. Your true love will come and it will be beyond your wildest dreams. He will love you for who you are, and what you are, and how you look. He will love you rolls and all.
