I'm getting married on the beach next April, and I need as many ideas as possible. From how to set it up, to what to have there. We don't have too much money to spend, so more do yourself's would be great! Also, any ideas for the reception afterwards. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Well, I'm getting married on the beach right behind the reception site next March, and I'm doing everything myself with the exception of the catering.
We're having the ceremony performed by a friend who's a notary, and decorating the reception site ourselves with a beach theme.
Here are the things I've come up with:
For the centerpieces... I'm taking a bowl (maybe a fishbowl or a flat round bowl) and filling it with sand. In the center I'm placing a sanddollar and then 3 or 4 tealights around it. Then, I'll wrap the bowl in toulle in the color of the wedding dresses.
I'm using a lot of the little white lights used for Christmas to decorate the hall with white toulle over it along with more candles. Together with the DJ's lighting, it will be very romantic.
For the place cards, I'm using cocktail umbrellas open with a label wrapped on the "stick" with the name and table number of the guest. They'll be open and placed in a tray with styrofoam covered with sand (like umbrellas on the beach).
Hope this helps.

I think that this is such a cute and unique idea for table #'s!! I am also doing a Beach Themed Wedding (although I live in PA). And I thought of 2 different ways that I would do my table #'s. Originally, I was going to have sand dollars and have their name and (table) # on it. Then I changed it to glass bottles, (with sand and mini sea shells inside), and have raffia and a seashell-looking card tied to it with the info. I like your idea alot too! Can I ask what you had planned for favors??

I am having a shell themed wedding. For my ceremony I am lining each side of the aisle with white clam shells that I collected on the beach this summer. I have over 600 of them.
I am asking potential florists if they think they could encorporate small shells in the the bouts and the bouquets for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
I am using muscle shells that I collect from the beach as escort cards. I will use a silver sharpie or something like that to write everyones name and table number. I plan to put these into a container filled with sand, and around it I will put drift wood.
For the table numbers, I bought acrylic frames at x-mas tree shop and glued sand to the bottom part of the outside (that i bought at a craft store, you could collect sand from a beach as long as it is fine sand). Ontop of the sand I glued shells. I will use blue paper to print the table numbers on to represent the water.
For centerpieces I am making plaster sand castles that I will cover in sand after they set to make them really look like sand castles, and then placing shells and flower buds around it.
Some places will have flower arrangements at the reception site. For one we hope the florist will be able to use large concshells and have flowers coming out of them. Others we are thinking of having glass containers and filling the bottom with sand and shells and then have water and the flowers coming out of those.
We plan to have shells decorating our cake.
We picked out invitations that have a shell design on them also.
That is all I can think of right now. What ideas do you have?
