I am facing a possible delima. I really only have 1 female friend and she has already been asked to be my Matron of Honor. My fiance is definately asking his best friend to be his Best Man, but may also ask his brother to be in the ceremony. I have females that I could ask, but no one that I am really close to. I do have a very close male friend that I am thinking about asking - if I do ask him, what do I call him? I have no issue with asking a male to be my attendant, I just don't know what to term him.

Many brides are doing this nowadays; you are not alone! Calling him something gender-neutral like "Honor Attendant" seems to be the accepted practice. Good luck!

im not sure if this is too late as this post is old, but i am also in my sis's wedding s a bridesmaid. I dont think its exactly common, but im sure im not the only one either. as long as he is ok with it there shouldnt be a problem , its your wedding and your choice

I was a bridesmaid for a friend but i let them dress me in a gown and all the trimmings but it was all for some fun, and we all enjoyed ourselves.

I'm going to ask my brother to stand up for me. I don't see why the attendant has to be female. Yeah, it's tradition, but not required.
