I am in the process of trying to plan a wedding in florida on the beach in January. I have no idea what goes as to what is ok and what is not ok when it comes to the beach and also at the time of year it is. Is it ok to have a formal wedding on the beach? or does it have to be informal? What colors are good? ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME!!! Im clueless in all areas! thanks!

I don't know that much about beach weddings (I'm having mine at home, in the Appalachain Mountains) But here is a link that could prove to be helpful:

Hope that helps.

Do whatever you want! It is absolutely OK to have a formal wedding on the beach. I live in Florida and I've seen them all the time. Pick whatever colors you like. Keep in mind what Floridians say about the weather: "There are two seasons, summer and January." This is the coldest month for us. If you're from somewhere up north, this probably won't bother you in the slightest as our daytime coldest is usually only in the 40s (I'm on the East Coast). The only limiting factors you might need to consider are the salt spray and the fact that there can be quite a stiff wind that will make it feel VERY much colder than it is. In the worst case scenario, the wind kicks up all the loose sand and blows it in peoples' eyes, faces, and hair. Choose outfits that can withstand a little salt and sand and decorations that won't be blown away. And, don't forget to get a schedule of the tides, as a high tide can submerge the entire beach, depending on where you are! I hope for your own sake you are a native here so that you are familiar with this environment and can have an easier time planning. (There is an entirely different set of headaches, oops, I mean challenges and opportunities :p that come along with planning an out-of-town wedding.) If not, don't worry, there are plenty of resources available. Let us know if you need any more help. Good luck!

Good Idea but Janurary weather is 50/50. Florida weather can change day to day so I would say anything past March but remember it's your wedding so you have total control in what you want to do, cause it will be something you both would want to remember and cherish.
