I'm new here (obviously), and I am planning a Beach Themed Wedding for myself. I just wanted to share my idea for my wedding. For the wedding, instead of wearing dress shoes, my girls and I are wearing flip-flops down the aisle. My ringbearer, will be holding a pillow with a sea shell tied to the middle, and my flower girls basket is going to be a white sand bucket decorated (nicely) with shells also. I don't know what I want trown at us when we come out of the church yet. (Helpful ideas would be great!) And for my reception, when you walk in, the greeting table out in front will have 2 tiny beach chairs (toddler size and 1 in pink the other in blue), decorated around it with sand ****, shells, beach towels, sunglasses, and other beach accessories around it. (And that is also our gift to our flower girl and ring bearer). Then instead of a recieving line for cards, I bought a really nice trunk/chest at Value City ($20) that I am making to look like a treasure chest to put the cards inside. And then my center pieces are going to be sandcastles!! I bought one at a ceramic shop. It was just a castle that you had to paint yourself, and I bought some craft paint with a sand base in it, and believe it or not, it looks SO nice! Anyways, I was hoping to get a couple other cheap and easy ideas! I'm not sure about my wedding cake; like how I want to set it up. My color theme is turquoise and my flowers are fushia. If you can help to my idea starter, that would me awesome! :D

Your wedding sounds absolutely beautiful!!!
Thank you so much! I have alot of time to plan it. And I got $200 worth at Kohl's this week. They were having a sale, and the stuff that I got was all 50% off!! Yay for me! Anyways, I got these beach chairs that look like they are on the beach with sand and shells, and a little beach ball, but it is a candle holder. And aa bunch of other little things that I am going to put on the tables. As I get more, I will post them! Thanks for your reply!! :) Amber

Hey again!! I keep finding you on this post and your wedding ideas go with mine so much! I've gotten some ideas for my beach wedding, but I am always looking for more. Most of my stuff is going to be do it yourself which will make it very unique but any ideas you have would be great and if you need any also, I have some of my own. *Heather*

My wedding is also beach theme. We are going out right now while they're on sale and buying the Teke torches for the walk way into the reception hall, we're going to have them in buckets of sand with sand around them so they look like they're really in the beach. Also the magazine Oriental Trading which also has a website has all sorts of cheap ideas and products to buy. Inflatable palm trees and other beach party accessories.

How about decorating your party site with beach themed murals? Or use water patterned gossamer to decorate as table skirts, chair coverings (or bows), or even as tablecloths?
For favors, you can go with shell necklaces, leis, or for the more formal gifts, adirondack chair picture frames (they are gorgeous!)
If you are having a buffet type meal and need ideas for setting up the food table - use miniature sea creaturs or shells as confetti. how about a large paper mache shell (that you can paint any color you want) and use it to hold napkins, utensils, etc.
Tie up cloth napkins with a ribbon laced through a sand dollar for a unique napkin holder. You can even ahve the date and your intials painted on the sand dollars...
Did you find your cake yet??
Congratulations to all of you!

I am actually thinking about ordering gossamer from the Shindigz catalog. And my friend Jenn (who is a Bride's Maid in the wedding party) is also a wonderful artist, and she is going to be painting me a Beach Mural for pictures. And we are also making our own palm trees for decorations. I got that idea also from Shindigz. If anyone has tried making palm trees before, and can give me a couple pointers on what to make the leaves out of, that would be AWESOME!! -Amber-

Which craft store did you buy your sandcastles at? And the paint? About how much did it cost for one of them? Do you have any pictures you could e-mail me? My e-mail is RadioLyss@earthlink.net Thanks in advance!! :)

La Blue Eyes had a great idea about the Oriental Trading Company catalog. You can also order leis for each of your guests. They are really cheap, and your guests will feel like they are part of the theme.
A couple of years ago, my husband's cousin had a beach/hawaiian theme wedding. They were married on the beach in southern California, and the reception was in the park behind the beach. They had a hawaiian buffet and hula dancers. Almost all of the guests wore hawaiian shirts or clothing.

I am not sure of the name of the craft store because it is locally owned in a town about an hour away from where I live. It's located in Kulpmont, Pa. I think that it is called "Don and Erma'" or "Dolly and Erma"... not really sure. But the castles are like midevil castles that we can just paint with a sand-based paint. I'm sure that if you went to a local craft store and asked, someone would be able to order it for you. I haven't checked out Michaels' or A.C.Moores, so you might want to check there too! My sandcastles I think were $7 a piece (and I got a 25% discount because I'm the Bride) and the paint was a $5 something. Once I get some painted, I will try to remember to e-mail them to you:)

I'm part Hawaiian (on my fathers side) and my Grandmother is ordering leis from Hawaii for Myself and the rest of my Bridal Party to wear. And then rest has been ordered already from OrientalTrading.com. That is were I am getting alot of my party items. If anyone has any other ideas or cake toppers that have cute hula dancers or a couple in their bathing suits, let me know!! Thats what I am on the look for as of now!!!
