Ok, I need some serious help here! I'm looking for vows that will keep me from crying. I cry over everything so I was thinking maybe, hopefully, there's someone who knows of or who could help me with some "Funny" vows, I mean its a serious wedding, I just dont want to cry and get choked up and no be able to say them. Any suggestions? Also I was thinking perhaps adding something in the ceremony with my 12 year old son in also. This is the one thing that has prevented me from even thinking about getting married.. the dreaded vows and tears..LOL Help!

So you cry, what the hey? Marriage isn't to be entered into lightly, and if you cry, so be it.
We had traditional church vows and we were both so happy we both cried anyway ( a little). It's a serious, but happy day in your life and if you cry...well everyone expects you to so whatever.
Maybe traditional church vows could work in your favor...they are a little droll and dry and if you focused on the vows...wait, there IS meaning behind them, which is why WE both cried.
Even when you take funny TV shows, they can be moving. The finale of "Mad About You" was 4 months before our wedding and I used their weding vows in a toast to my husband...I don't remember the whiole thing but it ended "and if you would ever leave me, I would go out and find you again, because you'd be wrong." Even THAT had everyone crying, and it was supposed to make them LAUGH.
Cry all you want, it's your WEDDING DAY. Just wear waterproof mascara. :p

My sister was married 2 years ago and had the same problem- she wanted a lighter touch to the vows.
So in the grooms it was "to have..to hold..to be financially responsible for..."
And the Brides was "..in sickness...in health...when he wants to buy expensive ****..."
Also.. instead of "till death do you part" it was "to infinity and beyond"
