Ok girls I need your help fast. I am sending out my planner this week to my DJ yet I still don't have a song for the father/daughter dance. My dad can't find anything he likes. We both don't want a song that everyone uses and you here at every wedding and we don't want frank cinatra type of songs. We are looking for a very nice song that is unique and more up to date. Any Ideas???? I really need help bad on this.:confused:

the new country song the person above was talking about is called 'i loved her first' by heartland. its a really good song, thats what i am going to use for my wedding. before i heard this i was going to use 'daddys hands'...but i wanted something more unique also. but by october, this might be a pretty popular song. its taking off in this area.

I think we finally found one. We chose "Holes in the floors of heaven" by Steve Wariner. Its about a boy who grew up and got married and had a baby girl. THe mother died and the daughter grew up to my age and got married and the mother is watching down from the floors of heaven. It's not till the end of the song where people will realize why we chose this song. It's a very personal song that hits close to me bc My mother past away a couple years ago. It's def a tear jerker haha.

Actually, it's "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. It's a beautiful song, very sentimental. I was going to dance to it with my dad, but he's not coming to my wedding :(

When i got married in 1993, my father selected the song "once upon a lifetime" by Alabama. For the first year after I got married, I cried every time I heard it. Of course, I'm not using it for this wedding, so I'm looking too....your suggestions are great. Good luck

im not ahving a father daughter dance... my father and i have a good relationship, but he doesnt dance and isnt comfortable up in front of people. id rather spare him the nervousness and stuff. im not heartbroken about it. people might find it odd but i dont think it will ruin the reception.
