Get a coordinator in Florida. Check with friends or relatives (I assume you have some there and that's why you're doing it there) to see who they recommend. Whatever you do, don't go solely by ads or websites...call several coordinators with specific questions and see how they compare. Word of warning: just because a consultant says he or she belongs to the ABC (this is a professional association for them) doesn't mean a whole lot...this organization is extremely easy to get into and doesn't really regulate its members. Since you've never done this before, go to the library and check out some books on wedding planning. They've helped a ton on every one I've ever done. Also, get a big notebook and put everything in it....guest list, to do list, schedules, quotes and contracts from all your service people, etc. Don't bother with one of those $30 "wedding planners"; just get a 3-ring binder with some dividers and some pockets. Good luck!
