to be tables or not to be....

i have a delimma deciding how my set up should be. my wedding and reception are both in my future in-laws back yard. there will be an arch that we stand under for the ceremony. do i line up chairs on either side with a runner going down the middle and after the ceremony set tables up for the reception or set the tables up from the start????

Not knowing how large the yard is, but would doing both be an option? Set up the chairs by the arch for the ceremony site and have the tables set up in seperate area for the reception.
