Hey everyone...

I was wondering...for those of you who have already booked a DJ or had a DJ at your reception, what kind of requests did you make when you hired them, and did they follow through? For example, did they respect your wishes not to play the Chicken Dance song, macarena, etc?

And how flexible were they when it ***e to requesting certain songs? Like were you able to give them a list of songs beforehand you definitely wanted played? Or maybe even a cd already burned with the music you wanted played during dinner?

My wedding isn't until May 13, 2006 (17 days - yippy!!) anyway, but my DJ's website allows you to pick 15 requests (5 MUST plays, 5 songs you'd like to hear, and 5 Special Requests) Also he allows 5 DO NOT plays. There is also another sheet where he allows you to put in your choice of songs for "Intro as husband & wife, 1st Dance, Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, Cake Cutting, garter & bouquet toss, etc. Everytime I log on to the site he is notifed by email and checks to see any changes I have made. He also as a HUGE selection of songs to listen to & choose from. So far everytime I have talked to him he is right with the program. I'm not using traditional music for walking down the isle and all that and he has been really good about that. I guess we'll see how good in a couple weeks - :)

I always go through the playlist to even see what they offer. I set up a list of what I want to hear and don't want to hear. This may be anal but I always go one of their parties or whatever so I can hear him/ her. You know just to see how they mix stuff or make sure they aren't too talkative but yet get people up and dancing.
