Hello Ladies...
What songs are you going to walk down the Isle to????
I have not a clue, all of the traditional songs seem tooo dreary to me, I was thinking of going with the traditional Bridal chorus, but I'm not sure, I don't know if I want to do a real song, do they usually just play the song with no lyrics or the song with the lyrics?? I have no clue what I'm doing anymore..
Thank you!

We'll just be having classical music playing softly as guests are seated. For the mothers and the grandmothers, "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" will be playing, for the processional of the bridesmaids, "Canon in D" will play (it makes me well up when I hear it!) but I am still debating what I will walk into. I will probably just walk to the traditional "Here Comes the Bride" just because it's really important to me that everyone stand when I walk down the aisle and every wedding I've gone to when the bride walks down to something other than the traditional bridal march there's an akward moment of confusion where people don't know whether or not to stand.

but my friend walked down to the theme to "Gone with the Wind" and it was beautiful! You can definetly mix it up and use whatever song you want!

I'm walking down to Canon in D. I think I may just have the whole bridal party walk down to it and have the pianist play louder or pause before I walk down.

My wedding will be in my home so there isn't really a processional...but the harpist will play Canon in D prior to our vows.

My harpist is so (snooty) I have no idea what she's playing. I'll find out at the rehearsal. She has all these songs that she has written and she doesn't offer a sample cd. But on the upside she's really good. So I decided to worry about something else.

That's hilarious...but a harp can't sound anything but classy and beautiful so you're right, no need to worry.

I'll be coming down to "Here Comes My Girl" by Tom Petty actually everyone will be but I'll be coming down when he says "Watch her walk". We are definityly not into any of that dreary stuff, it's not our style, but we're doing everything a bit from the norm so...

LOL -

I know - I always said that when I got married that was the song I'd come down the isle to - so now in 22 days I'll get my wish. If that's what you've wanted to do, then do it - like they say "It's your wedding" - :)

That's funny!! My harpist and flutist are middle aged women. They are not symphony quality but very, very nice...they are playing Christmas Songs, Canon in D, some jazz and are learning (just for me) Stairway to Heaven. I like them, they are very nice.

I got one of those classical CD's with Canon on it b/c i always said i would have that song played at my wedding. It would have been awesome to have a violinist come and play it live for the wedding, but i havent got those connections anyomore. :( I figure i will use that song while guests are being seated and have the wedding march played as i walk down the aisle. I just have to say that is the perfect wedding song (Canon).

canon is D is such a beautiful song but it makes me cry. i wanted more traditional, upbeat.

i'm having the girls come in to Trumpet Tune and me to Trumpet Voluntary.

this is a cool site where you can hear an organ playing some traditional songs..

I am walking to the song The Prayer by Josh Groban and Charlotte Church. My favorite song of all time.

I am having trouble deciding if i should walk don to "A Whole New World" or "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart MAkes". See my FH and I got engaged in Disney World s we wanted to include that in our wedding. Let me know what you all think. And i am open to any other suggestions you might have.

Here is a great website with lots of classical chamber music for your ceremony. You can hear Pachelbel's Canon as well as many other great wedding music choices. If you are dreaming of a fanfare to announce you entrance, than a brass ensemble is a great choice. Not only will you get the pomp you want, but a brass quartet can also play in a wonderfully lyrical style that will make the rest of you ceremony elegant and beautiful.

Plus, check out this website for some other options, as well as package pricing for jazz and swing dancing at your reception (if you are in the Houston area).

I've seen "When a Man Loves a Woman" used. It was instrumental of course but it was nice. ;)

I haven't discussed this with FH yet but I am thinking of using When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krause as a combination prelude and processional song. We are using I Love You by the Ramones as our recessional song. This will also be our first dance song.

"when you say nothing at all" is our first dance song! i love it...its so pretty.

we're using "angel eyes" by john brickman (piano solo) as our processional and U2 "beautiful day" as the recessional...for the pre-ceremony background music, we are using the piano tribute to tim mcgraw.
