we're not sure yet. I think the best one would be to use flowers for ours....however I did like the idea of having custom cake toppers created to look like a 3d caricature of us. The down side is that the custom cake toppers are so expensive!

I wanted to get one of those funny ones, like where the girl is dragging the guy behind her............but one of my bridesmaids saw what I was thinking and said I had to be out of my mind to do that.....so now I'm not sure.

I am using a Lenox Cake Topper with the bride & groom under a latice looking arch. My friend bought it for us among other things for my shower and I love it. I am also putting fresh Calla Lillies all around & on the cake.

LOL I love that one where the bride has to drag the groom back. I am putting that one on the grooms cake that I am making for him as a surprise. I am not sure what to make he is a BIG Incredible Hulk fan so i an trying to get an idea on how to do that and make it for him

I guess it depends on if I have fallen in love with my cake or not... if I have, then it'll be plain. Otherwise, I'll find a cake topper just in case. If I love my cake, then I'll just use the topper as a decoration at the head table.

I think we are going to use flowers and then for the table we are going to have a Harley Davidson cake topper sitting next to it.

I was thinking of possibly doing this. I collect Willow Tree so it is something I would display after the wedding. I haven't decided yet because we are doing an Italian-themed wedding and if I find something more "Italian" I might go with that.

I love that Cake topper and it would fit right in with an Italian theme wedding

I got mine on ebay. It's somewhere in my journal, I cannot access photobucket right now to pull the picture. It has a heart in the back ground with a artist bride and groom dancing in front of it. I'll see if I can find it.

I got sooo lucky. I had been looking online and in stores. I had envisioned something like this with a heart behind the couple. But, this one was even better. It has the cross dangling from her hand which is great cause I am having a catholic wedding with a lasso and all. The ceramic couple is even ethnically hispanic. I found it when I wasn't looking at Party City. Here is the better part. I paid $30 for it. When I found it online it was I think around $50. It will also match my cake because I have heart bands on each layer.

If you like the animated 3d custom cake topper. You should check out http://www.geocities.com/animatedcaketopper/topper.html.
This is what I had on top of my cake, I liked the fact that they were fun and different then the usual cake topper.

We have 2. The first one is going on the cake as kind of a joke. We really want a bull dog and we collect zelds wisdon figures so we are going to put that on on the cake. And we are NOT telling his mom.

And then we got a really pretty one to put in front of the cake

We havent even looked at cake toppers because we're using fresh flowers. We're having a plain fondant (3 tiered) cake with dark purple ribbon around each layer and hot pink gerber daisies on top!!

I want some kind of doves... or just flowers. I can't really find any doves that I really like. I want something simple and elegant.

Hehe... I have that same figurine. I stole (um... I mean, borrowed) it from all of the Precious Moments figurines (I mean 100's) that my grandma left at my parents house. My dad was tired of all of them being there, packed up in boxes. So he told me to take what I wanted. ::shrugs:: I just took that one because I was getting married. I wouldn't dare use it as a cake topper though... my grandma would probably recognize it! LOL!

I am just going to use flowers. I was going to do one of those funny toppers but i thought that was more for a bridal shower or party rather than the wedding.

I took a china tea cup and turned it on its side. Then filled it with flowers that cascaded down the side of the cake. There's a message but so far I don't think anyone gets it. The cost was negligible. I chose an antique one with yellow roses and it is now displayed in the china cabinet. It worked for me.

My fiancee has this werid idea ... (3) 3-D hearts made out of cake. Our cake is a 3-tier cake ... bottom and middle layer are round and the top is square, with red roses in certain areas ... with votive candles. The toughie part is he wants 3-D hearts made out of cake. We are going to see a sample on Monday - I will let u know how it turns out.

We got one of the funny toppers with the bride dragging the groom behind her. We both thought it was hilarious, but my family thinks it's stupid. So we'll probably end up putting that one on the groom's cake and getting a more traditional one for the other cake.

There is a company out there that created a cartoon character version of the bride and the groom as a wedding cake topper.
It's a bit expensive but it is very unique.
I will post a link if I can find it.
