I know exactly what your going through. I asked 2of my sisters and a fren to help, because they volenteered, but I am doing almost everything alone. Only my younger sister has stuck it out with me. My other sister, who is the maid of honor, is too busy in her own world.

Ladies, this is a perfect reason to have a wedding consultant. Someone who is dependable and will ensure you have a stress-free wedding.

While most stock brokers would definently say that past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results, I would disagree. People who have stepped up to the plate and performed in the past are the best candidates -- their loyalty has been proven.
However, it is also important to be frank with that person and let them know what tasks they are going to be helping you with. Also make sure that you won't feel hurt if they say no. Finally get a feeling of what type of commitment you can get from them. Sometimes friends and family will simply answer yes because
1) They don't want to hurt your feelings
2) They're so excited about the honor they don't realize there is work involved
3) They don't want to get into a discussion about why they can't commit
This, unfortunately, is what leads to these conflicted situations. In this case, I believe that being open and truthful is the best way to prevent turning the wedding day into the HBO Monday Night Fight.
